Workshop Description

The Intro to CAD workshop provides an accessible 1-session introduction to creating 3D models using Computer Aided Design. Workshop topics include fundamental drafting techniques, tools and methods to design and print a unique, simple 3D model, providing an easy start for anyone looking to dip their toe in this diverse engineering skill set.

Participants use tools that designers and engineers work with every day, gaining hands-on experience with industry leader AutoDesk's Fusion360 software. At the completion of the workshop participants take home a 3D print of their final project design.

    Instructor: Elizabeth Adelaide

    Elizabeth is an experienced robotics teacher and practitioner, teaching with Iridescent for four years, and has worked on projects including urban resilience efforts to ease access to solar power and emergency communications, CADing for integrated circuit design and product design, and developing autonomous robotics algorithms.

    She believes in hands-on, processed based learning and developing the skills needed to approach new problems. She is also a poet who can be found giving readings in various parts of NYC.
